A Poptropica blog for the Poptropicans

New Poptropica Creators’ Blog Update

Hello once again, world,

So, today the Poptropica Creators (Shark Boy, to be more specific) posted a new useless update to the blog, on yet another wasteful item, using your parent’s hard-earned money, Poptropica Electronics skins, via SkinIt!

Poptropica has teamed up with skinit.com to get skins for all kinds of devices – laptops, cell phones, mp3 players, and more! Check it out!

Yeah… I’d like to pass on the offer to “Check it out!”, thank you very much. The website, if you actually choose to “Check it out!”, looks like this:

poptropica skinit

Choosing the “Click Here to Get Started” link on the page brings you to the skin choices: Astro-Knights: Binary Bard, Astro-Knights: Laughing Boy, Astro-Knights: Princess Castle, Shark Tooth Island: Shark Boy, Spy Island: Director D, Super Power Island: Ned Noodlehead, and Time Tangled Island: Aztec Boy.

Choosing one of the skins gives you a choice of either phones, laptops, netbooks, MP3 players, gaming devices, Bluetooth headsets, calculators, camcorder, desktops, digital cameras, digital photo frames, DVD players, external hard drives, medical devices, musical instruments, PDAs, printers, internet routers, USB drives, and USB modems. The prices vary on phones, laptops are around $30, $15 for an iPod, $30 for an Xbox, $40 for a Wii with one Wiimote, $15 for a DS Lite, DSi, PSP, or PSP Go!, $25 for a Guitar Hero III controller, and $15 for a medical pill dispenser! There are many more, so if you express any interest at all of buying a laminated sticky piece of paper for $15+, check out the website, right here.

Also, according to the SkinIt.com website, Poptropica only gets 10% of the profit from every purchase of each of their skins. That means SkinIt, a company you’ve probably never heard of until this day, gets 9 out of every $10 you spend on a skin. If you actually want to help Poptropica with their funding, buy one of the items directly from the Poptropica Store. That way, they can annoy us less by releasing new products EVERY SINGLE WEEK.

Anyway, if you have any comments on this post at all, or wish to simply take all your anger out on me, post a comment, and I might just include it in this post.

Until next time,

I am personally sick of the creators making 90% of their posts today about the Poptropica store. I think we’ve all probably spent all our Poptropica Points already. Now, we all just want Reality TV Island. The island was officially announced on September 23rd, 2008. That’s right, over a year ago, this island was announced. That day was also 11 days before Big Nate Island was announced, and 53 days after Nabooti Island was announced. Nabooti Island was released on December 10th, 2008, and Big Nate was released on February 12th, 2009. That’s right, the island that was announced 11 days before Reality TV Island, the island that might not even be coming out, was released over 8 months ago. We’re in a recession, Poptropica. Most parents today wouldn’t be willing to put out any money at all for virtual items such as the ones in the Poptropica Store. In a nutshell? WE DON’T CARE ABOUT THE POPTROPICA STORE. WE WANT MORE ISLANDS ALREADY!

Also, the results to the Poptropica Creators’ Blog poll are in. I expected the results to be something like this. Here they are:

Early Poptropica: 446 (2%)

Shark Tooth: 433 (1%)

Time Tangled: 652 (3%)

24 Carrot: 455 (2%)

Super Power: 1247 (5%)

Spy: 2042 (9%)

Nabooti: 464 (2%)

Big Nate: 440 (2%)

Astro-Knights: 3216 (14%)

Haunted House: 12281 (56%)

I’m happy that Spy did still get 9%. I still don’t get why people feel the need to always vote for the newest island, but that doesn’t really matter. The poll’s just for fun anyways.

Anyway, now that I’m done ranting, comment on this, and get your own opinion into the actual post. If you’re going to curse in your comment, that’s okay, but just be aware that I’ll either asterisk (****) out the words, or change the word to something more appropriate. If I decide to post your comment on here, I may edit it a bit if I feel it is necessary, but I will not remove anything from your comment except for curses. It’s okay to argue with me; I love arguing with people. 🙂

Until next time,

Poptropica Creator’s Blog Island Poll

Hello Poptropicans,

As you hopefully know by now, the creators of Poptropica have their own blog where they post updates and polls quite frequently. From this point forward, I’ll repost all their posts, and put my own commentary in it. If you comment on one of the posts, and I like your comment, I’ll add your comment to the post with your commentary, and my commentary on your commentary. So, if you check the blog frequently, you’ve probably already noticed that there’s a poll up on the right-hand side of the page.

The question is:

What is your favorite island or quest on Poptropica?

The choices are all the islands, or, if you forget them all, here they are:

Early Poptropica

Shark Tooth

Time Tangled

24 Carrot

Super Power

Spy

Nabooti

Big Nate

Astro-Knights

Haunted House

Obviously, Haunted House is winning, due to the constant pattern of the newest always seeming to be the best. Spy Island is still my favorite, as I believe they put the most effort into it besides Astro-Knights, but unlike Astro-Knights, it has much better of a story. I like how Big Nate only has 1% right now, while they got 22% soon after it first came out. The poll ends tomorrow, so if you haven’t voted yet, vote!

What do you think is the worthy winner? Make a good comment, and I’ll post you!

Until next time,

-Fierce Sky

P.S. For those wondering, the blog is at http://blog.poptropica.com . The old poll results from the Big Nate poll are available courtesy of Codien from the other Poptropica Help Blog, at http://poptropica.wordpress.com .

Frequent Posting Once Again!

Hey Poptropicans,

As you may remember, I haven’t said anything since May, which was, ironically, the post when I said I’d be posting again. Fortunately, I have some free time once again, and hope to make this the great Poptropica blog it was destined to be. First, I need some help, from you viewers. Leave a comment introducing yourself, and what you’d like to see in a Poptropica blog. There are no stupid answers, so I welcome any responses. I want this to not be my Poptropica blog, but to be YOURS. YOU are the viewers, YOU should get to decide what you view! Power to the Poptropicans! Fire your comments away!

Thanks for all your support,

-Fierce Sky 😉
